About Porto de Galinhas Guide

An independent, free guide that is transparent about where its information comes from.

Updated on October 5, 2026 ✓ Information checked on October 5, 2026 adapted from the Portuguese original

Porto de Galinhas Guide (portodegalinhasguide.com) is an independent, free travel guide to Porto de Galinhas and the coast of Ipojuca, the municipality it belongs to, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco. Its goal is to help visitors plan better: when to go, how to read the tide table, how many days to stay, which beach to stay on, which tours to take and how to get there from Recife.

What the guide is

  • Independent. We are not the destination’s official website and we do not represent Ipojuca City Hall, Empetur (Pernambuco’s tourism board), the Pernambuco state government, local associations or any public body or company.
  • Source-based. Every page shows when it was updated and where its data comes from. We prefer primary sources such as Ipojuca City Hall, the Pernambuco state government, the Brazilian Navy, IBGE (Brazil’s statistics institute) and the official websites of attractions.
  • Cautious. When we cannot confirm a piece of information, we do not publish it, or we flag that it needs to be checked. We do not publish times or prices without a source and a date.
  • Multilingual. Content is written in Portuguese and adapted, step by step, into English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Chinese and Hebrew.

What the guide is not

  • It is not a travel agency: we do not sell tours, tickets, transfers or accommodation.
  • We do not publish paid reviews. Sponsorship, if any, is labeled and does not change the editorial text.
  • We do not write personal experience accounts: the content is editorial and informative.

Business directory

The business directory lists companies only when there is a verifiable public source, and it does not publish phone or WhatsApp numbers. Local businesses can submit a listing for free.
