Privacy policy

What data we collect, why, for how long and how to exercise your rights.

Updated on October 5, 2026 ✓ Information checked on October 5, 2026 adapted from the Portuguese original

This policy explains how Porto de Galinhas Guide (portodegalinhasguide.com) handles personal data, in accordance with Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018).

What data we collect

We collect only what you send through the forms:

  • Contact: name, email, subject and message.
  • Business listing: business name, category, address, website, Cadastur number (Brazil’s tourism business registry, optional), name of the person responsible, email and additional information.

To protect the forms against abuse and spam, we also record an anonymized technical identifier derived from your IP address, used only to limit repeated submissions. We do not ask for phone or WhatsApp numbers.

What we use it for

  • To reply to your message;
  • to check and, where appropriate, publish the business listing in the business directory, with only the name, category, address, website and source. The details of the person responsible are not published.

We do not sell, rent or share your data for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

Submissions are stored for up to 180 days and are then deleted automatically, unless they need to be kept to meet a legal obligation or to maintain a published listing.

This data is processed by Google and Meta in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy and the Meta Privacy Policy, and may be processed outside Brazil. To withdraw your consent, clear this site’s cookies and data in your browser.

The site’s maps use OpenStreetMap and only load when you click “Load map”. From then on, your browser connects to OpenStreetMap and unpkg (Leaflet library) servers, under the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

No ads are shown at the moment; if they are enabled, this policy will be updated first. Ads never appear on forms or institutional pages.

Simple preferences, such as language and light or dark theme, are stored only in your browser.
