Enseadinha (“little cove”) is a small beach in Serrambi, in southern Ipojuca (the municipality that Porto de Galinhas belongs to). It sits on the other side of Ponta do Serrambi from Serrambi Beach, facing toward Pontal de Maracaípe. It is a residential gated-community beach with holiday homes and gets far fewer tourists than Porto de Galinhas village.
There is little official information specifically about Enseadinha. This page focuses on what could be verified: location, the access situation and environmental care.
Where it is and how to get there
On the map, Enseadinha lies north of Ponta do Serrambi, the headland that separates the two faces of Serrambi (the point is recorded on OpenStreetMap). The Melhores Destinos guide sums it up like this: “on the other side of the point is Enseadinha Beach”.
You can get there by car, taxi, ride-hailing app or buggy, via the Serrambi road. The exact distance to Porto de Galinhas village was not confirmed by an official source and is therefore not given here.
Getting onto the sand
Every Brazilian beach is public property for common use, with free access guaranteed by Federal Law 7,661/1988. At Enseadinha, the shoreline is occupied by the Praia de Enseadinha gated community. In September 2026, CBN Recife reported that the Pernambuco Public Prosecutor’s Office appealed to the state court to guarantee free access to Serrambi and Toquinho beaches. According to the report:
- the Praia de Enseadinha development operates as a “controlled-access development”, based on decrees and agreements signed with Ipojuca City Hall in 2022;
- there is a gatehouse, a barrier and a request for ID to get through;
- at first instance, the court ordered signs stating that beach access is free, but kept the gatehouses;
- the decision took into account that there are seven access points in the Enseadinha area.
In practice: bring photo ID, look for the access points and, if you are turned away, ask a local authority for help. The case was under appeal and the situation may change.
What the beach is like
Travel sites describe Enseadinha as a calm cove with reefs and natural pools at low tide and few commercial facilities. Treat this description as guidance. It has not been confirmed by an official source, and conditions change with the tide and wind.
When to go
On reef beaches, low tide makes the water calmer and shallower. At high tide, the sea covers the reefs. Plan with the Porto de Galinhas tide table.
Who it suits
- Travelers who want an uncrowded beach and are fine with few facilities.
- Guests staying in Serrambi or nearby.
- People spending a day on the southern beaches of Ipojuca.
Environmental and safety tips
The sea at Serrambi is part of the Serrambi Reefs Marine Environmental Protection Area, created by the Pernambuco state government in 2018 and managed by the state environmental agency CPRH.
- Do not step on or touch the reefs and coral.
- Do not feed the fish and do not take shells or animals.
- There is no official source on lifeguards at Enseadinha: swim close to shore and watch children at all times.
- Take your trash back with you.
How to fit it into your itinerary
Enseadinha pairs with Ponta do Serrambi, Serrambi Beach and Toquinho Beach on a day devoted to southern Ipojuca. For other options outside the village, see beaches near Porto de Galinhas.
